Cluster labelling is increasingly becoming a reference point for public authorities when designing cluster support policies and funding programmes.
Across Europe, several countries have already taken concrete steps to recognise and promote cluster excellence. In some cases, a recognised label is required to access public funding; in others, labelling is encouraged through national or regional programmes as a way to support professional cluster management, improve the quality of services provided to companies, and strengthen innovation ecosystems.
This EUCLES map provides an overview of the current situation across Europe and highlights the countries where cluster labelling is already part of public policy or funding mechanisms.
