The European Cluster Collaboration Platform (ECCP) organises a series of 15 regional workshops over two years, launched in Malaga on the 16-17 February 2022, to promote clusters as facilitators for in the implementation of regional development policies.
The first Clusters Meet Regions event, taking place in Andalusia, was structured around the thematics of the industry and the updated European Industrial Strategy, with the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs (DG GROW) as one of the main speakers. The transition pathways, twin transition, strategy dependencies and cross-border and cross-sectoral cooperation have been highlighted and discussed during the different sessions organised, with a focus on how clusters can be leveraged to achieve these policy objectives.
During the second day, Hervé Floch presented EUCLES, its internal organisation and Working Groups (e.g. aiming at developping new indicators to assess the European clusters with respect to the twin transition challenges, or enhance the label’s recognition) and the labelling process and methodology.
