What your cluster do ?
We are a regional cluster focused on energy and sustainable development in the Emilia-Romagna region, in Italy. We actually have 129 members, 62% of which are private companies, sharing with research centres and other entities skills, ideas and resources to support the competitiveness of the sector.
What made you decide to apply for the Cluster Management Excellence label?
We wanted to be evaluated by an independent body about the quality of our management to understand our strenghts and weaknesses in order to grow in a sustainable way.
What specific benefits has the label brought you?
Having Silver gave us the credibility as a valuable stakeholder at the regional level and a reliable partner in international projects. It also helped us understand the areas we need to work on to reach the gold level.
Do you have a tip for other clusters that are still thinking about the label?
Starting with the bronze level to have an internal benchmark and give it time, and external analysis of your performance is invaluable and make you aware to become better and stronger.
What does “excellence” in cluster management mean to you personally?
Excellence is a journey to be undertaken together with our members. Promoting collaboration, managing relationships and guaranteeing a strong professionalism in an inspiring environment looking to the future.
